Fujian's foreign trade import and export volume exceeded 500 billion yuan in the first quarter for the first time.
FUZHOU, April 15 (Xinhua Long Min) Fuzhou Customs released statistics on the 15th, the first quarter of Fujian Province, trade in goods import and export of 501.81 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), an increase of 7.7% year-on-year, hitting a record high for the same period in history. Among them, the scale of exports for the first time in history during the same period exceeded 300 billion yuan, amounting to 308.03 billion yuan, an increase of 12.8 per cent year-on-year, an increase of 7.9 percentage points higher than the national average for the same period.
As Fujian Province's largest trading partner, ASEAN's trade with Fujian continues to heat up. In the first quarter of this year, Fujian Province's import and export to and from ASEAN, the number one trading partner, was 120.6 billion yuan, an increase of 16.9 per cent year-on-year, accounting for 24 per cent of the total value of Fujian Province's imports and exports.
Diversified and active trading partners have become the outstanding highlights of Fujian's foreign trade. In addition to the strong growth in trade with ASEAN, Fujian Province's import and export of 64.7 billion yuan to the United States, an increase of 13 per cent year-on-year; to build a "Belt and Road" countries import and export of 260.6 billion yuan, an increase of 5.6 per cent year-on-year.
